1965 Mercedes-Benz 220SE Cabriolet

The 220SE Cabriolet was built between 1961-1965 on the rugged and well engineered Mercedes Fintail saloon floorpan. A total of 2,729 cabriolets were produced and a fraction of these were right hand drive. These cabriolets were designed as convertibles for family outings and holidays, a grown up two-seater if you like!

Built in 1965, this final year 220SE Cabriolet is finished in metallic Silver with black leather trim and a black soft top. This particular car has much desired and preferred option of an automatic gearbox and almost essential power steering.

This silver paintwork is in very good shape and has recently received a specialist detailing service. The chrome is in good condition, although beginning to wear thin around the windows. The black leather interior has been very well retrimmed in the past and still presents well. The door cards are straight and original, and the black carpet is in good condition.

The black soft top is triple-layered with an interlining which makes for a much quieter ride than the two seat Pagodas. The outer black fabric is in very good condition, as is the interior lining. It also comes with the rare hood cover, trimmed in black leather.

The dash and screen surround is particularly good and has recently been re-veneered in Walnut by the best specialists in the UK. Have a close look at the photos - It's simply gorgeous!

The under bonnet presents very well and has been prepared to a high standard with evidence of recent servicing.

In recent years this car this car has been looked after by the Heaney Motor Company in Northern Ireland who are noted Mercedes-Benz Specialists. It has recently been checked through by Roger Edwards Motors, again one of the best UK Mercedes specialists.

The odometer shows a recorded mileage of 104,000. Unfortunately the service history has been mislaid by the previous owner.

The unusual and distinctive registration number 'UXM 99' comes with the car.
